Fixed & Expansion Cooper Split Bearings
Bearing Revolution have a large stockholding of Cooper Split Bearing Units, we stock all popular and hard to find in our stock range of over 12.5 million bearing related products. Cooper split bearings are commonly supplied in two different designs, the fixed type which have the suffix 'GR' and the expansion type which use 'EX'.
Fixed Bearings
The outer race of the fixed bearing has shoulders integral with the roller track, while the inner race assembly has shoulders formed by hardened lips on the clamping rings or similar integral shoulders. This type of bearing provides axial location to the rotating portions of machinery and can sustain both the radial and axial loading. The inner race halves are accurately aligned by means of fitted clamping rings.
Expansion Bearings
The expansion type bearing has a plain outer race roller track and takes radial load only. The inner race is clamped to the shaft and moves axially with it when expansion or contraction occurs. The Cooper expansion bearing offers virtually no resistance to axial movement as the rollers spiral through the outer race.
The most common mounting option would be the Pedestal. The actual design along with the number of fixxing bolts can vary depending on the bearing size.
Sizes of Cooper Split Bearing Units
The Cooper units can offer three standard series for most shaft sizes:
01 series - Medium Duties
02 series - Heavy Duties
03 series - Extra Heavy Duties
