Split bush bearings (also known as Plain bearings) are the simplest type of bearing. They are made up of just a bearing surface. They are not that expensive to have produced. As well as being very lightweight and compact they as also able to handle high load-carrying capacity.

DU type bearings are a durable, maintenance free, high performance composite plain bearing material with a mild steel backing, a sintered bronze interlayer and a lining of PTFE. Specifically designed to operate without lubrication.
DX type are a low maintenance, high performance plain bearing material specifically designed for marginally lubricated operating conditions. DX type plain bearings are a composite material, with a mild steel backing, a sintered bronze interlayer and an acetal co-polymer lining.
